It's a small world after all

God has created a world that is both large and small at the same time.  It is large to our human perspective both from our limited mortal timeframe and our small physical size compared to the entire planet.  The world population clock currently has the earth at 7.5 Billion people.  So the times I run into someone here in Tanzania who went to Clemson or is from South Carolina it drives home the small world aspect of the song and original World Fair's attraction created by Walt Disney.

When I found out a friend of mine from the engineering community in Greenville was also starting a ministry here in Tanzania I was not only excited but in awe of how things God sets into motion often intersect as a method of reinforcement.

Frank DeVita, PE and his brother in law Doug Johnson were building a full primary school in Kiruani.  Their site is about a 3 hour drive from the town of Arusha and below the TCP sugar plantation. They had two buildings for classrooms/headmaster office, a bathroom for students and a hand pump well when they came to visit the Full Dimension Ministry site last year.

The site is in Masai territory and would be a big step up from the  government schools on site.  In addition they have a plan for the upkeep and long term operating cost of the site to be turned over to the Tanzania side.

Since that time Frank and I have discussed the possibility of my visiting their site and helping document the work being done.  When I first went in January the site was pretty much as described above.  I visited again just before I left Tanzania while I wait on my work/residence permit renewal.

They have had quite a bit of work done since then.  There is another school building about 30% constructed, a kitchen/pantry building about 60% constructed, a headmasters house about 45% constructed, a teacher's bathroom and wall to separate the entries of the boys and girls student bathrooms (a Tanzania thing), two tanks elevated on metal platforms, an electric pump with generator and a well building along with associated piping.

I have really enjoyed getting to work with Frank and his contractor Abraham. Working with other engineers is always a pleasure since we talk the same language.

Here are some of the site pictures:
