February Top Students and Prayer Requests

We have just wrapped up February's monthly testing and awarded top student honors.  I want to share those with you and then I will go into some prayer requests for the site and the country.

From the Baby Class we had a tie at first place between Ramadhan (left) and Ibrahim.

Also in Baby class we had a tie at 3rd place between Michael (left) and Maulidy.

In the Middle class we had Ester (pictured middle) Wilson (pictured left)  tied for 1st place and Angela in 3rd place.

In Pre-Unity Class, 1st place was Zoe (pictured right), Elisha (pictured second from right), Angel (2nd from left) and Samson (left) all tied for 2nd place.

For Standard 1 it was Isaya in 1st place (pictured right), Jackson in 2nd place (pictured middle) and Elisha in 3rd (pictured left).

Standard 2 we once again have Nice in 1st place (pictured right), Baraka in second place (pictured second from right.  Clara and Dorice tied in third place (statistical tie-no signfiicant difference between their scores).  Dorice is left and Clara is second from left.

In Standard 3, Obed once again broke the all female strangle hold on top positions.  But it was his sister who once again took top honors in First place.  Gladness is pictured on the right.  Teresia was 2nd place (pictured middle) and Obed in 3rd place pictured left.

These are the academic all stars.  I however one to mention another student as a top student this month.  Elvice has been excellent at helping the younger students.  He helps to herd them off the playground area and today I caught him tying the shoes of Moody one of our Baby class students.

For our prayer requests we have several things going on right now I would like our community to be in prayer for.

Blessed2BlessU Ministries, Inc. leader Rev. Doug Johnson was diagnosed with a non-cancerous brain tumor that will be removed this week.  Please pray for him and his family for a good surgery and for the long recovery.

Locusts swarms across East Africa destroying many people's only source of income or food for their family.  While the locusts have not been discussed as having invaded Tanzania and the government here has taken a strong proactive stance by purchasing insecticide and renting planes to spray it, this can still have a huge impact on staple food item prices.  Please pray they are capable of dealing with the swarms and work with their neighbors in doing so.

While we have had rains during the dry season, we are now officially in rainy season and it has started with a bang.  About 4am it rained so hard the inside of my house was flooded where I had a window open because of the heat.  The good news is that is not oppressively hot today like it has been.  Bad news only about half our students made it to school today.   We already have a lot of water around the roads and they were damaged from previous rains.  While I want it to rain I pray (and ask you to join me) that is not destructive flooding rains.

Please also pray for me as I will be doing some traveling to visit other schools and between the virus scares, locust swarms and flooding that can sometimes be a tricky situation.
